At Grow Capital, we have just wrapped up their CAP-tivating Business Tales social media series. Designed to connect small businesses with a new network, provide some financial assistance to solopreneurs and entrepreneurs finding it tough, and have a good laugh!

How did it all work?

Anyone and everyone could email, SMS, or direct message them their details and request the number of Grow Capital caps they wanted to create the video.

Participants then threw on their caps and recorded a video, sharing their funniest or most absurd client story or experience – it didn’t matter if they were a small business owner, in a leadership role, an entrepreneur, or running a billion-dollar company.

Either sending the video directly or tagging Grow Capital on social media, where we could then spread the laughs, comradery, and good times.

It didn’t go without a little incentive, there was $5,000 cash up for grabs across three placings for the best stories!

Coming out on top was Ben from Capsize Media:

This is a tale of Ben’s missing shirt after a client photoshoot! Ben is a documentary-style photographer, capturing life’s authentic and candid moments based in Maitland, NSW.

Recently, Ben was hired to photograph a gym’s gorgeous layout – weights, sauna, the whole shebang. The shoot went off without a hitch, and Ben decided to squeeze in a workout of his own. Little did he know, the real workout was yet to come!

After his training session, Ben couldn’t locate his shirt for the life of him! He searched high and low, up and down, but the shirt had vanished into thin air. To this day, the world will never know what happened to Ben’s shirt.

With no other choice, Ben had to strut his stuff out of that gym shirtless – past his new clients and fellow gym-goers who probably thought this guy was slightly off!

When your next photoshoot needs a shirtless wildcard, you know who to call – Capsize Media!

Securing second was Jacci from Transcend Health:

Imagine this: You’re getting your house renovated, feeling like a champion for finally tackling that DIY project.Suddenly, disaster strikes!

You slip and fall, ending up in an interesting position. The pain is real, and your arm isn’t exactly happy either. Luckily, the ambulance is on the way…

But here’s the kicker: thanks to your awesome trainer and Senior Accredited Exercise Physiologist at Transcend Health based in Broadmeadow, Newcastle, you’re facing a whole new challenge – holding a 30-minute squat while you wait!

Turns out, those rock-solid glutes you built weren’t just for aesthetics. Moral of the story?

Strong health and training can save you in more ways than one! Jacci and her team don’t just help you recover; they build you for life.

In third was Matt from Osborne Landscaping:

A man of few words but ounces of knowledge when it comes to landscape and garden maintenance.

So much so that his most asked question from clients is, ‘Why aren’t my plants growing?’

After not-so-much investigation, it turns out they need water. Because water makes plants grow – it’s groundbreaking,we know!

As comical as it is, that’s why they’re in business, though, right? Helping and educating others on a passion of your own is the most rewarding venture.

Being a green thumb isn’t for everyone, so we have legends like Matt to help us! If you’re in the Central Highlands and need a landscaping pro, give him a call.

The most consistent feedback from the three winners was that they thrive on challenges, and this was no different. They encouraged hesitant viewers to participate, reminding them it’s only a small investment of time for a big potential return. Not just if you’re in the winners circle but for your own brand awareness and community connection.
